The Path Forward: Turning Hope Into Opportunity

We have begun the process for our 2021 capital campaign for the Innovative Learning Center, which will allow us to serve our students through 9th grade. While we have met our “bricks and mortar” fundraising goal, and the building itself is slated to begin construction, we are still working on bringing the building to life in the form of supporting the people and programs within it.

This is the culmination of a long-time vision to serve our students through a critical point in their lives. If we can transition our students seamlessly from primary into middle school, our students are more likely to stay engaged and complete 9th grade. This will enable them to go on to find work outside the dump community, enter secondary school or university, or intern at an organization and truly break the cycle of poverty. To get an idea of how important this new location will be for our students, check our our self-guided virtual tour or our case statement above (Spanish also available for download).

You can help continue our mission by making a pledge now to support the needs for our new Innovative Learning Center and our evolving Expeditionary Learning methodology. Details can be found in the case statement above in English or Spanish. You can also be a part of the Safe Passage story for years to come through our naming opportunities on the building itself.
