We recently partnered with EPA, a local group of retail stores in Guatemala, that has several locations across the region. During EPA’s Ayudar es Sencillo (Helping is Simple) initiative, which was launched this spring and runs through 2021, store visitors can make a contribution to Safe Passage. Donations made by EPA customers are supporting our youth in technical training, helping them prepare to join the workforce. Additionally, EPA is providing some students in our Próximo Paso (Next Step) program with practical work experience, which ultimately helps them  to land jobs outside the dump.

Luis De Sousa, EPA manager in Guatemala, describes the program as “an investment in the lives of adolescents and young people that will have a direct impact on improving the quality of life for them and their families.”

We are excited to be partnering with EPA. As our Director, Trae Holland, shared,EPA acts as a true leader not only in corporate social responsibility, but also modeling effective solutions to the most important challenges of our society, which can come from active companies oriented towards building a better future.” To find out more about our collaboration, check out the press conference and publications below.
