Virtual Volunteering from Home

If you want to make an impact but struggle to commit to a period of months in Guatemala, our virtual volunteering program may be a better fit for you.

There are positions available for people who can volunteer regularly, for a few hours a week or month, offering support via online tools. This volunteer program allows us to offer more flexibility to volunteers whilst still offering extra services and support to the students in Guatemala.

Please take a moment to look at the different volunteer roles below to see if you would be a good fit. If you are interested in applying, please read our volunteer handbook before sending your resume and an introduction of why you think you are right for the position to Sarah de Lemus at volunteers@safepassage.org.

General Volunteer Requirements:

  • Be 18 or older.
  • Be willing to commit to regularly volunteering virtually.
  • Successfully complete the required background screening on acceptance.

When can I go?

Safe Passage hosts ongoing orientation sessions for virtual volunteers on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.

Costs of Volunteering

$50 one-off fee for background check (or send one you have done in the last six months).
