Name: Campbell Belisle Haley
Hometown: Yarmouth Maine
Time with Safe Passage: 5 Months
Position: Classroom assistant with Raquel (1ro. Primaria) and Lily (2do básico)
Raised in Yarmouth, Maine, Campbell grew up hearing about the Safe Passage.
When he graduated from high school, he decided to take a gap year before beginning college. He started out working in the Escuelita and later moved to the Educational Reinforcement Center (CRE), where he is now a classroom assistant and a tutor. After a few weeks in the classroom, Campbell realized that a number of his students could benefit from one-on-one attention and tutoring. Campbell, like so many of our other volunteers, decided to take action. Campbell said, "My favorite part about tutoring is seeing the day to day improvements. When a student knows three more vowels today than they did yesterday, I know they are making progress." The tutoring program is dedicated to those daily improvements and the recognition that every child has the potential and the greatness to succeed, if given the opportunity.
Safe Passage is always benefiting from our amazing volunteers who go above and beyond their normal duties: from lending a hand in the kitchen, to taking on more responsibility. We thank you!
