This month we thank two terrific organizations in Guatemala for donating significant funds to Safe Passage and showing leadership in creating local solutions to local challenges.
In October, The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) awarded Safe Passage $6,200 to help improve school retention rates in our older at-risk students. As we prepare for our high school graduation in November and younger students look ahead towards when this day will come for them, we thank BCIE for their commitment to improving education in Guatemala and working with Safe Passage to transform lives through education.
In October, we also were awarded a generous donation of Q20.000 (about $2,580) from the Asunción Rotary Club of Guatemala (Club Rotario de la Asunción) to supplement our nutrition program. Where proper health and nutrition are necessary before education and leadership can occur, this support from the Asunción Rotary Club will help make our mission of education and empowerment possible, bite by bite, sip by sip.
A very big thank you to these two generous organizations in Guatemala showing leadership and putting smiles on the faces of students at Safe Passage.
