Office Depot Guatemala donated 20,000 pencils to students in need, including 1,500 to Safe Passage

Office Depot Guatemala, in partnership with Toshiba Latino América, Azteca Guatemala, Bolik, and Banco Promerica, donated 20,000 pencils to children in need, including Safe Passage students.

Office Depot Guatemala pencil donation to Safe Passage staff Jose and Luvia

The donation was part of Office Depot's recent campaign, Donemos Juntos Un Lapiz, through which thousands of children with limited resources received free pencils to use at school. We are honored to have received 1,500 pencils for Safe Passage students to use.

Safe Passage students come from some of the poorest communities in Guatemala City, and access to school supplies is limited. We know that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, and we strive to provide educational resources and supplies for all students.

It is through the kindness of others that programs like Donemos Juntos Un Lapiz exist, and it is gifts like this that positively impact our programs. With donated resources, and pencils, in hand, our teachers can continue to provide comprehensive education programs for our students!

We are grateful to Office Depot and their partner businesses for organizing Donemos Juntos Un Lapiz and for thinking of our students in need!
