My name is Gino Nalli and I am going to ride my bike across the country, from Maine to Washington.  I will be leaving Portland on May 10th and hope to complete the ride by late June/early July. My plans are to head directly west: Portland to Albany, New York; to Lackawanna, New York; to Muskegon, Michigan (through Ontario); to Milwaukee, Wisconsin (via the ferry); to Dalbo, Minnesota; to Fargo, North Dakota; to Cut Bank, Montana; to Sandpoint, Idaho and finally Anacortes, Washington, in the Seattle area. Total miles are approximately 3500 (not including the ferry ride).

During my ride, I will keep an on-line journal. As I pass libraries and other public on-line resources, I will be updating this journal, including an occasional photograph. I don't plan to devote much of this journal to descriptions of majestic scenery, meals that I've eaten or flat tires that I needed to get fixed. Instead, this journal will focus on the various people that I will inevitably meet over the course of the trip. I expect that it will be these folks that make the trip enjoyable, memorable and worth while.

While my ride is not officially associated with any particular organization, I have had a number of folks ask how they could 'help'.  In response to this expression of support, I have identified three relatively small charities that are helping improve lives at the local, community level: Safe Passage, Konbit Sante and Preble Street.
