Support Teams

Teams are capped at 12 members. We welcome Teams from schools, civic groups, sports teams, families, and more, as well as individuals and groups far smaller than 12.

The support Team program offers a hands-on, week-long experience of sharing in what Safe Passage is all about. Team members plant the seeds for long-lasting relationships with children, families, staff, volunteers, and each other.

Forming your Team: A typical Team has between eight and 12 members, but we invite you to contact us no matter the size of your group.

Teams spend their week at Safe Passage volunteering, learning the program's ins and outs, and completing a project of their own design with a group of children.

Choosing & securing your dates: Itineraries will be planned from Sunday to Sunday. Additional planning for weekend excursions or travel should be done through a partner travel agency. Safe Passage is closed for one week during Semana Santa (March 28 to April 4, 2010) and for one month for the holidays (early December to early January, dates TBA). There are no Teams scheduled during these times. Safe Passage needs receipt of a $500 deposit for final confirmation of your Team’s dates.

Team members don't have to speak Spanish to volunteer their time. All they need is a desire to jump in and help out!
